Description

A classic Italian dish that is quick and easy to prepare, featuring spaghetti with garlic and olive oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g spaghetti
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti until al dente, according to package instructions.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook until the garlic is golden, about 2 minutes.
  4. Once the spaghetti is done, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well with the garlic oil. If the pasta looks dry, add some reserved pasta water.
  6. Season with salt to taste and toss in the fresh parsley.
  7. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
