Description

A quick and comforting dish featuring eggs baked in a toasted bread well, topped with melted cheese. Perfect for weeknights and breakfast.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of thick bread (sourdough or sandwich bread)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley or chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Press a well into the center of each slice.
  4. Crack one egg into each bread slice.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese around the edges or over the egg whites.
  6. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the cheese is melted.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

For a heartier meal, pair this with creamy chicken mac and cheese or serve with a side of hot sauce.
