- 12 mozzarella sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil spray for cooking
- Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Cut the mozzarella sticks in half if desired.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each mozzarella stick first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the breaded sticks on a plate and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.
- Arrange the frozen mozzarella sticks in a single layer in the basket and cook for 6-8 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Double coat for a sturdier crust. Optionally, mix some grated Parmesan into the breadcrumbs for extra flavor.
