Description

A comforting dish featuring hamburger patties topped with a rich and creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour (For thickening gravy)
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into 6–8 oval-shaped patties and let them rest while you prepare the gravy base.
  3. In an oven-safe skillet, brown the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden. Remove them and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter. Add flour and stir for 2 minutes, then whisk in the beef broth and cream.
  5. Nestle the patties into the gravy and cover tightly. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for 15 more minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use 80/20 ground beef for better flavor and juiciness. This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or rice.
