Description

A comforting dessert filled with warm, baked apples and a crunchy oat topping.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the sliced apples with 1/2 cup of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Spread the apple mixture in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  4. Combine oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

For leftovers, cool completely and store in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
