Description

Delightful homemade cinnamon rolls filled with a sweet cinnamon-sugar filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk, heated to 110 degrees F
  • 2 + 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 1 large room temperature egg
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter, divided
  • 4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus 2-4 Tbsp
  • 6 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, egg, 1 Tbsp. melted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk quickly.
  2. Add flour and stir until combined, knead for 3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  4. Prepare cinnamon filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Once risen, roll dough into a 17 x 10 rectangle and spread filling evenly.
  6. Roll dough lengthwise and cut into 8 pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a 9×13 pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F and brush rolls with melted butter.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes and cool for 15 minutes.
  10. For frosting, beat together softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla. Slowly add powdered sugar until mixed.
  11. Spread frosting over warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure milk is at the right temperature to activate the yeast properly and don’t skip the frosting for extra sweetness.
