Description

Welcome to my kitchen: where burnt toast turns into a lesson, a dash of spice becomes a story, and every meal is a chance to make someone smile. Hi, I’m Natalie raised on potlucks, Sunday roasts, and the warmth of family tables. I learned at my grandmother’s elbow that food shares love and keeps traditions alive. These simple burger sides keep that spirit: fresh, cozy, and weeknight-easy. Serve them with cheeseburger casserole, a skillet cheeseburger, or creamy cheeseburger pasta for a full plate that brings everyone together.

Ingredients

Scale

OVEN FRIES

2 large russet potatoes, cut into wedges

1 1/2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper

COLESLAW

3 cups shredded cabbage

1/2 cup shredded carrot

1/3 cup Greek yogurt or mayo

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp honey, pinch salt & pepper

GARDEN SALAD

4 cups mixed greens

1 cup chopped cucumber & tomato

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice, pinch salt & pepper

BAKED BEANS (QUICK)

1 (15-oz) can beans, drained

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tsp yellow mustard

1 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp diced onion

1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

1. Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). For OVEN FRIES: Toss wedges with oil, salt, and pepper. Bake on a parchment-lined sheet 28–35 minutes, flipping once, until golden and crisp.

2. For COLESLAW: In a bowl, whisk yogurt (or mayo), vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Fold in cabbage and carrot. Chill 10 minutes.

3. For GARDEN SALAD: Toss greens, cucumber, and tomato with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

4. For BAKED BEANS: In a small saucepan, combine beans, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, onion, and smoked paprika. Simmer 6–8 minutes until glossy.

5. Serve all sides warm alongside cheeseburger casserole, a classic hamburger, or creamy cheeseburger pasta.

Notes

Make-ahead: Slaw tastes better after 1–2 hours in the fridge. Parboil potatoes 5 minutes for extra-crispy fries.

Air fryer swap: Fries cook at 400°F (205°C) for 14–18 minutes, shaking basket halfway.

Lighter ideas: Use light yogurt for slaw; add extra salad greens. Great with healthy hamburger recipes too.

Storage: Refrigerate fries and beans separately (3 days); re-crisp fries in a hot oven or air fryer.
