Description

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and salt until evenly distributed.
  4. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until glossy.
  5. Incorporate the flour until just mixed, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cool on a rack for an additional 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for best results. Overmixing can lead to a tough crumb, so stop mixing when mostly uniform.
