Description

A delightful and easy holiday treat made with salty crackers, buttery toffee, and melted chocolate.


Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, crushed candy canes, flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and place the oven rack in the middle.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until combined and smooth.
  4. Pour the butter mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  7. Allow the chocolate to melt, then spread it evenly over the top.
  8. Add any optional toppings as desired.
  9. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
