- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together until well combined.
- Add egg, honey, and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
- Stir in flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Mix granulated sugar with remaining ½ teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. Add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture. For stronger cinnamon flavor, add an extra teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter.
