Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together until well combined.
  3. Add egg, honey, and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
  4. Stir in flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Mix granulated sugar with remaining ½ teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter.
  7. Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. Add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture. For stronger cinnamon flavor, add an extra teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter.
