- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 4 cups cubed bread
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Layer the bread cubes in a greased baking dish. Add the cooked sausage and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, sausage, and cheese.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is lightly golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach. Stale bread works well for better absorption of the egg mixture.
