- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the sliced smoked sausage to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the sausage is browned.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
- Add the shredded mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
- Toss the cooked penne pasta into the skillet. Stir until all the pasta is well-coated with the creamy sauce.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Consider using half-and-half for a lighter version or adding vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to enhance the dish.
