- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add in the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
- If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
- For the glaze, beat cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
- Once cookies have cooled, drizzle with cream cheese glaze. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
For best flavor, use very ripe bananas. Store in an airtight container and enjoy while fresh.
