Description

Soft banana cookies topped with a smooth cream cheese glaze, resembling the flavors of banana bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Add in the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
  5. If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  8. For the glaze, beat cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
  9. Once cookies have cooled, drizzle with cream cheese glaze. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For best flavor, use very ripe bananas. Store in an airtight container and enjoy while fresh.
