Description

A classic green bean casserole with a creamy mushroom sauce and crispy fried onions, perfect as a Thanksgiving side dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Trim the green beans and place them in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the green beans to the soup mixture and stir well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with fried onions.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly.

Notes

Serve warm with additional fried onions for extra crunch. Can be made ahead and baked on the day of serving.
