Description

A delicious and easy dish that brings a burst of flavor with marinated shrimp cooked to perfection on the grill.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 teaspoons ground paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 2 pounds large shrimp (2125 per pound), peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. Whisk paprika, garlic, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, olive oil, pepper, basil, and brown sugar together in a bowl until thoroughly blended.
  2. Stir in shrimp and toss to evenly coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, turning once.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate and place it about 4 inches from the heat source.
  4. Remove shrimp from the marinade, drain excess, and discard the marinade.
  5. Place shrimp on the preheated grill and cook, turning once, until opaque in the center, about 5 to 6 minutes. Serve immediately.

Notes

Marinating the shrimp for at least 2 hours enhances the flavor. Don’t overcrowd the grill for even cooking.
