Description
A fun, kid-approved Halloween appetizer: hot dogs wrapped in golden crescent dough to look like spooky mummies. Simple, quick, and party-ready.
Ingredients
8 hot dogs
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 tbsp mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
Cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment and lightly spray.
2. Unroll crescent dough; press seams, then cut into thin 1/4-inch strips.
3. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, leaving a small gap for the “face.”
4. Bake 12–15 minutes until the dough turns golden and hot dogs are heated through.
5. Cool 2 minutes. Dot mustard or ketchup for eyes. Serve warm with dipping sauces.
Notes
Tip: Use beef or turkey dogs. Puff pastry or pizza dough also works.
Make-Ahead: Wrap dogs earlier in the day; cover and chill, then bake before serving.
Story (100 words): Welcome to my kitchen: where burnt toast turns into a lesson, a dash of spice becomes a story, and every meal is a chance to make someone smile. Hi, I’m Natalie, raised in a small town where potlucks and holiday feasts felt like hugs. I learned at my grandmother’s elbow that food carries love and laughter. I’ve singed a few casseroles and made a few triumphs too, but I always cook with heart. I adore playful bites that bring people together like these silly, golden mummy dogs. They’re easy, warm, and perfect for a night of spooky fun.
