A guilt-free fall dessert with no refined sugar, no butter, and no flour. This healthy apple crisp is gluten free, dairy free, and filled with comforting warm flavors perfect for autumn.

- 5–6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup rolled oats (use gluten free if needed)
- ½ cup almond flour or ground walnuts
- ¼ cup coconut oil (or almond butter)
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: ¼ cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Toss sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and maple syrup. Spread in a baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine oats, almond flour, coconut oil, salt, and optional chopped nuts to form the crisp topping.
- Sprinkle topping over the apple mixture evenly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is golden.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm with yogurt or dairy-free ice cream.
Notes
Use Granny Smith apples for a tart balance or mix with sweeter varieties like Honeycrisp. To make it nut free, use oat flour instead of almond flour and skip chopped nuts.
