Description

A guilt-free fall dessert with no refined sugar, no butter, and no flour. This healthy apple crisp is gluten free, dairy free, and filled with comforting warm flavors perfect for autumn.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 56 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup rolled oats (use gluten free if needed)
  • ½ cup almond flour or ground walnuts
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (or almond butter)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and maple syrup. Spread in a baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine oats, almond flour, coconut oil, salt, and optional chopped nuts to form the crisp topping.
  4. Sprinkle topping over the apple mixture evenly.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is golden.
  6. Let cool slightly and serve warm with yogurt or dairy-free ice cream.

Notes

Use Granny Smith apples for a tart balance or mix with sweeter varieties like Honeycrisp. To make it nut free, use oat flour instead of almond flour and skip chopped nuts.
