Description
A bright and floral drink that balances tart hibiscus with strawberry sweetness and lemon zest.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups water
- 2 hibiscus tea bags (or 2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus flowers)
- 1/2 cup strawberries
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2–3 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Optional toppings: Extra sliced strawberries, lemon slices, and/or fresh mint leaves
Instructions
- In a tea kettle, bring the water to a boil.
- Remove from heat and steep hibiscus tea bags (or dried hibiscus flowers) for 5-7 minutes. Let the tea cool.
- In a blender, puree strawberries with 1/4 cup of the cooled hibiscus tea until smooth.
- In a large pitcher, combine the remaining cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Stir to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired. Pour over ice and garnish with optional toppings.
Notes
For a lighter version, use less maple syrup and add sparkling water before serving. Adjust sweetness based on strawberry ripeness.
