- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Add half of the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
- Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup over the beef.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup.
- Top the casserole with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Consider adding vegetables like carrots, peas, or bell peppers to enhance the dish. For a crispier top, bake a little longer after removing the foil.
