- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is browned. Drain any excess fat.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread the cooked ground beef over the potato layer.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the meat layer.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings on top.
- Add another layer of sliced potatoes, then top it off with the shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the potatoes are tender.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
