Description

Hobo Casserole is a hearty dish combining beef, potatoes, and cheese, making it perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped onions, herbs, or spices

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  4. Spread the cooked ground beef over the potato layer.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the meat layer.
  6. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings on top.
  7. Add another layer of sliced potatoes, then top it off with the shredded cheese.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the potatoes are tender.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
