- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Mix until the sugar looks evenly moistened.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- Stir in flour, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
- Once the brownies have cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top and let it set before slicing into squares.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh lemon juice. If using salted butter, reduce added salt to a pinch.
