Description
A quick and comforting Lemon Orzo Pasta that brings a bright flavor to your weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Let it rest briefly so it is not steaming when it meets the sauce.
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked orzo, lemon juice, and lemon zest to the pan. Mix well to combine.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Letting the orzo sit in the sauce for five minutes off the heat helps the flavors marry. Use fresh herbs for added flavor.
