Description
Juicy and tender chicken breasts marinated and baked to perfection, creating a golden crust and maximum flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, cayenne pepper, and some salt and pepper.
- Remove chicken from the marinade and let excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.
- In an oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear until golden brown on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side).
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Marinating overnight enhances flavor. Searing is crucial for a nice crust. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
