Description

Omurice is a delightful dish that combines fluffy omelet with flavorful fried rice, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, diced (optional)
  • 1/2 cup peas (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a pan, melt butter and sauté chopped onions until translucent.
  3. Add cooked rice, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and season with salt.
  5. In another pan, heat some butter and pour in the eggs, swirling to create a fluffy omelet.
  6. Once the eggs are almost set, place the ketchup fried rice on one half of the omelet and fold the other half over.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with extra ketchup, if desired.

Notes

Use day-old rice for better texture. Customize the filling with other vegetables or proteins.
