Description

A comforting and delicious shepherd’s pie made with ground beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and savory veggies, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 (13 oz) box of mashed potatoes (plus butter, milk, and salt as directed on the box)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (12 oz) bag frozen mixed veggies (like peas and carrots)
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can tomato soup
  • 1 (1.5 oz) packet of beef stew seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400° F.
  2. Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the package directions (about 10-15 minutes).
  3. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat, then drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in the tomato soup, frozen mixed veggies, beef stew seasoning, and water; simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Spread the beef mixture in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  6. Evenly spread the prepared mashed potatoes over the beef mixture.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
