- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
- Once risen, roll the dough into a rectangle and spread the raspberry jam evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar if desired before slicing.
Notes
Ensure milk is warm (not hot) for yeast activation. You can experiment with other jams or fruit fillings.
