- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, egg, food coloring, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and blend until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle and spread softened butter on top.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- For icing, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.
