Ingredients

  • 1 head of green or Napa cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 chicken breasts (or tofu/turkey as substitute)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, or chives)

Instructions

  1. Prep all vegetables: thinly slice cabbage, chop onion, and mince garlic.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add chicken breasts and cook through until golden and no longer pink.
  5. Remove chicken and set aside. In the same pan, toss in the sliced cabbage.
  6. Cook cabbage for 4–6 minutes, stirring frequently, until just tender but still crisp.
  7. Slice cooked chicken and return it to the pan with cabbage.
  8. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and lemon zest.
  9. Toss in fresh herbs and give a final stir before serving.

Notes

Chop vegetables ahead of time for faster prep. Cook protein first to keep cabbage crisp. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in a skillet for best texture.
