Ingredients

- 4 fresh ripe tomatoes or 1 can fire roasted tomatoes (drained)
- 1 small white onion, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, chopped (or serrano for more heat)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Add tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapeño, lime juice, and cilantro into a blender or food processor.
- Pulse a few times until the desired texture is reached (chunky or smooth).
- Taste and add salt or more jalapeño if needed.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes for best flavor.
- Serve with chips, tacos, or your favorite Mexican meals.
Notes
Drain canned tomatoes for a thicker salsa. Use fresh lime juice and cilantro for the best results. Store in the fridge up to 5 days or freeze in small portions.
