Description

Sushi Made Easy at Home is a fun and delicious way to enjoy fresh, customizable sushi without leaving your kitchen. This recipe lets you create high-quality sushi rolls with your favorite ingredients, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 kg sushi rice
  • 1.2 L water
  • 12 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 200 g raw tuna
  • 200 g salmon (fresh, sushi quality)
  • 150 g shrimp (cooked)
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 mango
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1 carrot
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped spring onions
  • 2 tbsp crispy onions
  • 2 tbsp black & white sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
  • 8 nori sheets
  • Bamboo mat for rolling
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Unagi sauce (Japanese teriyaki-like sauce)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook with 1.2 L water using a rice cooker or stovetop. Once cooked, let cool slightly and stir in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  2. Place a nori sheet on the bamboo mat and spread a thin layer of rice over it, leaving space at the top.
  3. Add your choice of tuna, salmon, shrimp, avocado, mango, and other vegetables. Add cream cheese for creaminess and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Using the bamboo mat, roll the sushi tightly from bottom to top. Slice into bite-sized pieces with a sharp knife.
  5. Arrange sushi rolls on a plate and serve with Sriracha, mayonnaise, and Unagi sauce. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and crispy onions for added flavor.

Notes

Serve sushi fresh with soy sauce, wasabi, and extra Sriracha. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours, wrapped in a damp paper towel. Avoid freezing for best texture. Use sushi-grade fish for safety and freshness, and wet your hands while handling rice to prevent sticking.
