Description

This homemade taco seasoning is easy, budget-friendly, and endlessly versatile. Whether used in taco soup, cheesy taco rice, or tossed in taco salad, it’s the flavor backbone of countless meals.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp paprika (smoked for extra depth)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add all the spices to a small mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk or stir until well combined.
  3. Transfer to an airtight jar or container.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
  5. Use 2–3 tablespoons per pound of ground meat or beans.

Notes

Use smoked paprika for extra depth. Adjust chili powder and red pepper for heat. Always mix spices well. Store in an airtight container away from moisture. Double the batch so you always have some on hand.
