  • 1 unit Scotch bonnet pepper, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Chop the cabbage, slice the carrot and bell pepper, and mince the garlic and onion.
  2. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Cook the Onions and Garlic: Add the chopped onion and garlic; sauté for about 3-4 minutes until golden.
  4. Add Carrots and Peppers: Toss in the sliced carrot and bell pepper; cook for another 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the Cabbage: Gradually add the cabbage and mix well.
  6. Season Your Dish: Sprinkle in the thyme and salt, and add the Scotch bonnet pepper if desired.
  7. Add Water: Pour in the water or broth, cover, and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  8. Finish with Scallions: Uncover, stir gently, and fold in the sliced scallions; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
