Description

A comforting and versatile seasoned rice dish that brings families together around the dinner table.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups white rice or Jasmine rice
  • 4 cups water or broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sauté until softened.
  3. Add the rinsed rice, water or broth, salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  5. Fluff with a fork, garnish with green onions, and serve as a side dish or use in fried rice.

Notes
