- 2 cups white rice or Jasmine rice
- 4 cups water or broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sauté until softened.
- Add the rinsed rice, water or broth, salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- Fluff with a fork, garnish with green onions, and serve as a side dish or use in fried rice.
Notes
This seasoned rice is customizable; feel free to add vegetables or herbs based on what you have at home.
